May 5, 2023 – The Ocala Triathletes Club hosted a Wine Pull event to raise funds and award scholarships to deserving athletes. With approximately 200 people in attendance at DragonFlower Winery in Summerfield, the event raised $3,000 for Special Olympics of Marion County.
Recognized for their dedication and athletic abilities, were Marion County Triathletes Adrienne Bunn and Thomas Welsh. Event organizers Nicolas Blaser and Erin Freel presented the athletes with $250 scholarships.
Boyd Real Estate donated funds to the charity, and Boyd Team members Joel Bockoras and Erin Freel were on-hand as volunteers.
Special Olympics contributes to the physical, social, and psychological development of the athletes. Through successful experiences in sports, they gain confidence and build a positive self-image which carries over into the classroom, home, job, and community.
